
Great weather, Great company
What a great way to spend Sunday morning – a round of gentle stretching, followed by an easy 3km run and then a delectable, hearty breakfast. That’s just what the 50 participants at Great Eastern’s very first breakfast event got to enjoy last month under the awe-inspiring Singapore Flyer.
We gathered at 7.30am to start with some dynamic stretches and headed off on our run in the cool morning air. After the stresses of the week and a busy activity-filled Saturday – the run was just what I needed to clear my mind and de-stress. The 3km took almost no time at all, and before we knew it, we were back and ready for breakfast!

Cookyn Inc organisers were on hand to demonstrate some healthy breakfast options – we learned how to make a Banana Berry Smoothie (great way to kick start your morning) and Pasta Tossed in Laksa-Cashew Nut Pesto – laksa has to be my favourite dish, and I was excited to learn a healthier way to prepare it. Yum!
The event was part of the series of exciting fringe activities for the annual Great Eastern Women’s Run – only those registered for the run could join us for the breakfast event. Our next cooking party is on 21 Oct, come join us and learn to create healthy meals from recipes that are simple and fun to follow! Most importantly, it is always satisfying for the runners!
